Do you feel that this range and choice encouraged you to grow as an artist? Please explain how it did, if not, explain how it in.
- Yes, I feel that this range and choice encouraged me to grow a lot as an artist. First off, the new techniques that I learned really helped my sketching and drawing develop. Second, the materials that we got to use expanded my knowledge on different ways to make artistic pieces. Throughout the process I came across multiple obstacles but with the things I learned, I overcame them. No, knowing what I can do with these materials and techniques, I can go on to create better things.
Chosen 3 From the List:
Regardless of whether you liked or disliked a project, which one did you learn, grow, or developed the most from? Please explain.
- Even though I disliked the perspective project, I gained some skills by doing it. I learned how to set up the ruler to make the picture look like you are looking at it from 1st, 2nd, or 3rd perspective. Also, I developed skill on working with things i'm not familiar with. I've never drawn a perspective picture so this was new to me. I overcame the obstacle of making everything look like it was all the same perspective. It took some time to get it right but I accomplished it.
What did you find most difficult about this class? This could be anything from gathering materials, to generating projects ideas, to applying a particular technique. What could be done to resolve this issue in the future?
- What I found the most difficult about this class is getting familiar with certain materials. It wasn't always easy starting off with unfamiliar things. Even though it was difficult I still enjoyed being able to use them. I think what could be done to resolve the issue in the future is to have a longer amount of time to practice with the materials. We did usually have about a week to finish our assigned projects with the materials but it would've been nice to have a little more time.
Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project.
Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project.
- The project that I found most successful was my sculpture project. The theme to this was summertime due to the fact that I love everything about summer. In order to complete this project, first I had to draw the image on a thin sheet of paper. Next, I traced the sheet over the divided pieces of clay I made. After I got the clay hardened, I painted my 3 individual parts. I was happy with the outcome of this project. I enjoy doing sculptures involving clay and this project allowed me to expand on that.
