Art Journal

Topic: Mind

How did you use it?
- Since my topic was mind, I cut out pieces of a magazine to create this image. In the picture, there is a baby sitting on a rock near a camp fire looking up into the midnight sky. The planets going from its head to the sky's purpose is to make it look like the baby is wondering. Almost like thought bubbles they put in comic books.

What is this artwork intended to say?

- This artwork is intended to say that once in awhile it's nice to just dream. Also, it shows the beauty in nighttime and the stars and sky.

What issues are you examining through your artwork?

- An issue I came across was filling up the page and not making it look plain. I got the main concept across by having the magazine part down. But then when it came to the outside I had trouble with that.

How is this artwork about who you are or what you like?

- This art piece describes me in a way about how I really like nighttime. I think it's beautiful and especially during summer.

When did you step back and analyze you work during this project?

- I stepped back and analyzed my work once I glued down the magazine peices. I liked how I put everything together.

Did you consider how ideas would work before you tried them?

- Yes, I figured it would work out because before I glued everything down, I layed it in the positions I wanted. Like I thought it would, it worked(:
